Prednisone Precautions

Before the treatment with prednisone, inform your doctor if you have ever had any kind of allergic reaction to the drug or any other products. This medication should be avoided under certain health conditions. Let your doctor know, if you have untreated active fungal infections or have ever observed or if you have bleeding problems, blood clotting, diabetes, osteoporosis, glaucoma, cataracts, ocular herpes infection, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disorders, underactive thyroid, kidney or liver disease, stomach pain, ulcer, diverticulitis, mental changes, or any other infections.

Avoid contagious people with infections. Consult the doctor how to take preventive treatment if you have no immunity to measles or chickenpox. These conditions are very serious for people who are currently taking Prednisone steroid. Avoid getting a live attenuated vaccine while you are taking prednisone. Interacting with a steroid therapy, vaccines do not work. Alcohol is not recommended during taking prednisone.

There are many other medications interacting with steroids. Be aware of the below medications: aspirin, diuretics, anticoagulants, for example warfarin, ketoconazole, insulin or diabetes oral medications, and cyclosporine.
